FOR YOUR HOME

We just got done reading about the BIG DINNER and now this letdown here? Of course not but it is true that there’s never an average week in life-think about it!

Got post-holiday blues and feel let down from the Big Dinner and visiting? This is the time now to relax and enjoy an easier day and an easier pace. Then you can start the cleaning....

There is really never and average week since things change all the time. Every day has different weather, different sorrows and different joys. Chores need to be done and errands need to be run.

You can make the days and weeks really stand out by starting your day with a smile, a hug for your family, and a tummy rub for your pet! It makes a big difference-try it!

THERE’S NEVER AN “AVERAGE” WEEK

THE DAILY DINNER

It used to be that most all mothers stayed at home and prepared the daily dinner. Well, thanks goodness it is NOT all the mother doing the work now!

Mothers and fathers work, as well as some of the teens in today’s families. It is good to see the fathers and teens taking part in doing some of the dinners. I see more sharing in the 2000’s than ever before.

Still, we need to all sit down at least one day a week to eat together as a family.

Now, that’s real sharing of time and love!

ON GRANDPARENTS

Not all grandparents stay home and take it easy all of the time. Today many of then still work or volunteer outside of the home.

Take my mother for instance, she still works part-time so that she can travel and see the world. [her picture is on the TRAVEL-INT’L page in the whitewater rafting picture (center) and in the horseback riding in Costa Rica.

As for me, I am a stay-at-home grandmother for now because we have 4 furkids and almost and acre of gardens to stroll in here. Each grandparent is unique and can do many things in many places in the world today. They share their talents with others and help younger people learn some of the traditions in families.

There is no “traditional” grandparent’s role in the 2000’s!

LET’S NOT LEAVE FATHERS OUT....

Father’s get a bad rap sometimes. They DO help and work around the home, run errands, and work, too.

We women would be hard-pressed if we had to add mowing the lawn, taking out the trash, and taking the vehicles for repairs, etc. We have to all, as family members.  appreciate the father’s work for his family.

You do get your June Day and we do appreciate you all!

Thanks to all the fathers for taking the time to read to their children and listen to their day at school!
