IT’S TIME TO TAKE A WALK AROUND THE GARDEN-APRIL

Just walking around the garden in early Spring, you see what is breaking out, in bloom, and pushing up! We have (left to right) a spirea, grape hyacinths with pink hyacinths, and a peony!

Then you make notes of what you have to do: Cut down the grasses for the birds, divide the massive clumps of daffodils, and finish projects from last year!

Next, you check you notes  and pictures on all the plants and ideas that you gleaned from the winter garden visits, flower shows, etc.  Here I have (left to right): espaliered peach trees from Mt. Vernon, VA; a close-up of the way that the gardeners there tied the branches with leather to the wood rails in front of the brick wall.
