IT’S TIME TO TAKE A WALK AROUND THE GARDEN-APRIL |

Just walking around the garden in early Spring, you see what is breaking out, in bloom, and pushing up! We have (left to right) a spirea, grape hyacinths with pink hyacinths, and a peony! |
Then you make notes of what you have to do: Cut down the grasses for the birds, divide the massive clumps of daffodils, and finish projects from last year! |

Next, you check you notes and pictures on all the plants and ideas that you gleaned from the winter garden visits, flower shows, etc. Here I have (left to right): espaliered peach trees from Mt. Vernon, VA; a close-up of the way that the gardeners there tied the branches with leather to the wood rails in front of the brick wall. |
